Who We Are

The Greater Cleveland Orff Chapter was the first chapter chartered at the AOSA National Conference on April 25, 1970.

Welcome To The Greater Cleveland Chapter One Web Site. The Greater Cleveland Orff Chapter was the first chapter chartered at the AOSA National Conference on April 25, 1970. Chapter One is a professional organization of music and movement educators dedicated to the creative teaching approach developed by Carl Orff and Gunild Keetman. We are joined by our belief that learning about music - learning to sing and play, to hear and understand, to move and create - should be an active and joyful experience. Thank you for visiting our organization online. Enjoy your stay!

AOSA Ethics Statement

The American Orff-Schulwerk association strongly encourages members to be positive and discreet when discussing our organization, specific courses and/or teachers, and the Orff movement. The very nature of the Orff Schulwerk philosophy embodies a broad spectrum of expressions exploring different paths to arrive at artistic and educational goals. Members are encouraged to recognize and remain open to varied approaches and to celebrate both our differences and our similarities.
